Sasori was left very annoyed that despite a thorough search, they could not find a body. Sasori grew up in a sad and lonely environment due to the absence of parental love. When introduced to the art of puppetry by his grandmother, Chiyo, he grew a little happier. He eventually created puppets in the likeness of his parents, but when he realised that the puppets could not give him the actual love that he desired, he became cold, aloof and led to his general disregard for human life.
Sasori even went so far as to state that he would feel nothing if Chiyo died, as he claimed that his heart had become like his puppet body: without any emotions. Neither did Sasori have any loyalty for his village, as he defected to pursue personal interests and even kidnapped the Third Kazekage, which caused severe damage for Sunagakure, and then attack the village again twenty years after leaving. Despite his cruel and nihilistic nature, Sasori was also known to possess a very down-to-earth outlook on life, rarely getting worked up over obstacles that impeded his way.
He rarely gave way to any strong emotions, and such instances that happened were often short-lived. Sasori was also known for his impatience, as he repeatedly noted that he did not wish to wait or keep others waiting. Sasori and his second partner in Akatsuki, Deidara, both had conflicting views on art, and they frequently argued about their differing perspectives.
This reflected their individual natures; Deidara made clay sculptures which exploded, while Sasori created long-lasting puppets out of humans that never died. Nevertheless, although Deidara outwardly seemed to respect Sasori's beliefs, Sasori never respected Deidara's. Sasori's ambition was to become an exquisite piece of art himself by turning his body into one of his own puppet works. Sasori adhered so strongly to his belief that true art was ever-lasting that he even went as far as to have his spy retrieve information on the Summoning: Impure World Reincarnation and human experiments.

Sasori had wide greyish brown eyes which he inherited from his mother, and short, mousy red hair which he inherited from his father. He was usually seen with a hazy, dreamy look on his face. As a child, Sasori wore dark green robes with a pale poncho around them.
As a teenager, while living in Sunagakure, he wore a purplish robe with the Sunagakure forehead protector. After leaving the village he was seen wearing the Suna flak jacket with a sleeveless undershirt, bandages around both arms, brown pants with an attached colster where he held his puppet summoning scroll, and brown shinobi sandals.
He also wore teal nail polish on his fingernails. Even though Sasori still possessed his Sunagakure forehead protector that was slashed out in the middle, he kept it on his person instead of wearing it. In his exposed state, Sasori's eyes would also be wide open in a maniacal way, as opposed to his normal calm looking eyes. After Kabuto reincarnated him, Sasori displayed the black sclerae and darker irides seen in other reincarnated shinobi.
In place of his previous clothing, Sasori, like the other reincarnated Akatsuki members, wore a maroon cloak with beige lining. Despite being 35 years old at the time of death, his reincarnated form takes that of his teenage years, how he looked before he converted himself.

His use of his puppets was greatly feared throughout the Third Shinobi World War as he turned the sand red with blood, giving him the nickname, "Sasori of the Red Sand".

His usage of puppets was at such a high level that he made mere techniques appear as an artistic performance, what he called his " Red Secret Technique ".

Because of this, only certain members like Orochimaru, Deidara, or relatives like Chiyo knew Sasori's true face while others like Zetsu and Kabuto had no idea that Hiruko was not his actual body. Hiruko had a long mechanical, scorpion-like tail an allusion to Sasori's name meaning "scorpion" , extending from the mouth of what appeared to be a demon mask on its back. Chiyo said this mask was a recent addition by Sasori to act as an extra defence to a weak point in the puppet.
The tail worked as Hiruko's main offensive weapon and was laced with Sasori's speciality poison. The tail could also be used defensively by spinning around Hiruko's body at a rapid speed. Hiruko's left arm was also rigged with a projectile launcher capable of firing poisoned shrapnel and needles, [20] and its mouth could also be used to serve a similar function of firing poisoned needles.
In the anime, Sasori was also capable of performing the Sand Clone technique through Hiruko, [21] Hiruko is said to have been a human puppet in the anime from a once famous Sunagakure shinobi that Sasori converted upon death.

These human puppets were more versatile than regular puppets, since, in addition to having many dangerous devices installed within them as is common with regular puppets , they were also able to use chakra and perform any techniques or kekkei genkai abilities that they possessed during their life.

What made these puppets so dangerous was not only the weapons and traps that were built into them like any other puppet, but they retained their chakra and techniques which Sasori could make use of.
His most used human-puppet was Hiruko. A puppet master's weakness is that they are left vulnerable while controlling their puppets, so Sasori specifically made Hiruko as both a weapon and a suit of armor. After he left the Sand village, he would both destroy an entire village and join the criminal organization known as the Akatsuki.
He would fight Kankuro , a young puppet master from the Sand village. Though Kankuro was skilled, Sasori was an expert and Kankuro succumbed to Sasori's poison after short battle. Sasori would then fight the combined might of his puppet-master grandmother and Sakura. He fought them first inside of Hiruko, and soon they realized that Sasori has a tendency to cover every edge found on his puppets' weapons with poison, making even a scratch potentially lethal.
Sakura's great strength that she gained under the training of Tsunade was able to crush the Hiruko puppet, causing Sasori to find safer ground. He then not only awed his grandmother by revealing the fact that he still looks like a teenager after twenty years, but that he had the missing The Third Kazekage as his most prized human-puppet. Despite some close calls, Sakura was able to survive most of the Kazekage's traps and poisons, at which point Chiyo summoned her puppets to help battle Sasori, the puppet replicas of Sasori's parents.
They were effective for a bit and managed to remove many of the Third Kazekage's weapons and traps until Sasori started using the Third Kazekage's infamous "Iron Sand" techniques, which used to immobilize the puppets of his parents. The iron sand would result in a lot of trouble for Sakura, especially since that too was laced in poison, but she was thankfully being partially controlled by Chiyo which allowed her to avoid things that she could not avoid on her own.
After a very close call from one of the Third Kazekage's most dangerous iron sand techniques, "World Method," Sakura was able to destroy the Third Kazekage puppet and put an end to the threat of the iron sand. Sasori then revealed the secret to his youth, he turned almost all of himself into a human-puppet He went on to use his abdominal "tail" to injure Sakura and thrust himself towards his grandmother to kill her with his buzz saws on his back, but was stopped by Sakura's amazing strength which ultimately caused him to fall apart, but he was able to pull himself back together.

Itachi Uchiha was only able to defeat him by trapping him in a never-ending genjutsu that forced the genetically enhanced ninja to reconsider his life choices.
Itachi Uchiha is perhaps the most skilled ninjutsu and genjutsu user in the entirety of Naruto , and secretly spies on the Akatsuki while acting as a member of the organization. If not for his chronic illness, Itachi likely would have been the strongest living ninja during his time in the series.
Orochimaru is both one of the most self-interested characters in Naruto , and one of the strongest. One of the legendary Sannin and a member of the Akatsuki when it suited his interests, Orochimaru has fought some of the strongest characters in the series and lived to learn from those battles.
He possesses more knowledge of ninjutsu than any other character in the series and is implied to have more techniques in his repertoire than is humanly possible. Blessed with the legendary Rinnegan that Madara spent decades creating, Nagato took on the name Pain when he turned the Akatsuki into a villainous organization. On top of mastering each elemental transformation, Nagato could also destroy entire cities instantly by creating a massive force.
Nagato was able to command the strongest iteration of the Akatsuki because he was strong than most of them. Obito Uchiha, or Tobi when he was hiding his identity from the other members of the Akatsuki organization, possesses the Sharingan, the Rinnegan, and the power of the Ten-Tails.
While he only possesses this form for a short time, it takes the entirety of the Allied Shinobi Forces to stop him in this state. He was nearly invincible and if not for the efforts of a thousands-strong army and the scheming of Madara, he would have been unstoppable.
He could combine the Sharingan and Rinnegan to form the Rinne Sharingan and was actually able to defeat the entire Allied Shinobi Forces, as well as stave off the efforts of Naruto and Sasuke working together to defeat him. His only mistake was allowing Black Zetsu to influence his decisions, as his all-powerful form allowed the goddess Kaguya to possess and remodel his body in her image. Madara is undoubtedly the strongest member of the Akatsuki and perhaps the most powerful character in the series in a one on one fight.
